The Ylang Ylang Beach Resort in Montezuma, Costa Rica is wonderful place for a destination wedding. Montezuma itself is a small colorful artist-filled town and it’s just a short walk along the beach back to Ylang Ylang’s secluded bungalows set in lush tropical gardens.
An added bonus is that for me to get to Montezuma from Manuel Antonio on the Central Pacific coast I need to take a speed boat…Awesome!!
The wedding took place in the grounds of the beautiful Ylang Ylang Beach Resort followed by fun photos on the beach and a then the guest returned for an amazing dinner at the Resort.

This beautiful wedding took place at La Fortuna, famous for its stunning views of the Arenal Volcano. Unfortunately the volcano was shrouded in cloud, but no matter – all eyes were on the bride and groom!
These are just a few photos, I will add more later, it’s been a busy week with house shoots, yoga shoots and another wedding :)

A sunset beach elopement in Costa Rica just could not be more romantic. This wedding took place on teh Manuel Antonio Beach, on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. The weather was looking a little rainy which is very unusual for the dry season, but the weather was on our side with only a little shower after the intimate ceremony.
This beautiful wedding was planned Erin from Oasis Weddings in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

This beautiful Persian wedding was a marvellous to photograph with the bright colors of the flowers and dresses against the stunning backdrop of the of the ocean. The family set up a traditional Sofreye Aghd or Wedding Spread, this includes pastries, herbs, salt, candles, mirrors and a blessed bread, which was specially baked with calligraphy written on it. Another Persian tradition, a bright blue shawl which is held over the bride and grooms heads during the ceremony. The wedding ceremony took place at sunset on Villa Caleta’s incredible private amphitheater. The wedding party then moved to the spectacular Zephyr Palace, Villa Caletas wedding reception venue for dinner and dancing.
A couple of days after the wedding the bride and groom came to Manuel Antonio for a sunset couple photo shoot, where we got some beautiful romantic photos.

Villa Caletas is spectacular venue for a sunset wedding on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast, the views and the ambience are hard to beat. This beautiful wedding was organized by the amazing team at Weddings Costa Rica , their attention to detail and creativity once again made a perfect intimate wedding ceremony and celebration. The wedding ceremony took place at sunset on Villa Caleta’s private terrace and the wedding reception dinner was also at the hotel.

A sunset beach elopement was this families pick for their Costa Rican wedding. The bride and groom and their two young boys love the beach, so what better place to get married. We took a few photos on the beach first (incase the boys got covered in sand!) and during the romantic sunset ceremony the boys played on the beach. Erin from Oasis Weddings organized a babysitter and had treats on hand for the little ones, so that Mom and Dad could enjoy their romantic wedding….and get some fantastic photographic memories too

This adventurous couple wanted to celebrate their marriage in the heart of the Costa Rican Rainforest. The couple had done a civil service in the US, but wanted to their wedding memories to be a little more personal and romantic! We conducted the vow renewal ceremony at Rainmaker, just a short drive from Manuel Antonio. This spot by the river is about a 20 minute hike into Rainmaker along rainforest trails. After a change out of hiking gear into wedding attire my soon to be wife, Katharine, conducted the vow renewal. The glorious back drop of the Costa Rican rainforest combined with a wonderfully happy couple made taking photographs easy! Congratulations to you both!

These two ladies thought they were just coming on vacation to Costa Rica, little did they know their husbands had also organized a renewal of their wedding vows! Randy from Celebrations Costa Rica helped the two gentlemen organize a small romantic ceremony which took place under the palm and almond trees on Manuel Antonio Beach. Both couples were staying at the Discovery Beach House, which is one of the few houses that have direct beach access in Manuel Antonio. After the ceremony and some photographs the fun on the beach, the group returned to the Discovery Beach House for an intimate reception dinner and cake cutting.
This beautiful vow renewal was planned by Randy from Celebrations Costa Rica at the Discovery Beach House in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica.

This bride and groom decided they wanted something a little different for their wedding photographs. The day after their beautiful hill-top wedding in Manuel Antonio we headed to the beach for a “Trash the Dress” photo session. We got some dramatic photographs against the volcanic rock and fun, romantic shots in the sand, then to the water! We got some gorgeous photographs in the waves, before a big swell came in, look at the 3rd ocean photo! We then returned to their Villa and took some stunning underwater photos, I love the one of the bride floating with the orchids…
The wedding ceremony took place at La Reserva in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica; look at my previous Blog post “Sunset Wedding” to see the photos.
